Synonymous with all the passion and fervour of Spanish football, JOMA SPORT is one of the World’s leading sportswear companies and is the Official Kit Supplier to UEFA CUP Double Winners and Champions League contenders SEVILLA, GETAFE, of Spain’s Primera Liga; and the National Association of HONDURAS who will compete in the 2010 WORLD CUP. Currently in the UK, Leicester City, Watford, Charlton Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers, all wear the JOMA football strip.
With their Head Office based in Toledo de Madrid, close to the Spanish capital and its’ historic architecture, cosmopolitan vibrancy, artistic culture and famous footballing rivalries, JOMA represents a global infatuation with the game which encompasses intense emotions, provincial patriotism and an understanding of the game that runs deeply in the veins of every true supporter.
JOMA is no stranger to the UK’s sports market and it’s clearly defined marketing strategy has helped to expand its’ current operations and market share through a network of agents and specialist distributors, supported by a world class product range of technical sportswear.
We are honoured to welcome them as our new Tournament partner.
JON HAILE, UK Development Manager for the JOMA brand, stated:
We are delighted to confirm that following extensive negotiations with the Tournament Organisers and having monitored the success of this new pre-season football initiative in the West Country, we are going to use World Cup year 2010 as the launch-pad for this new sponsorship partnership. We bring extensive sporting connections and experience to an event which we believe has already broken new ground in terms of bringing together local football and business interests, as well as providing real and meaningful pre-season Competition for supporters and clubs alike. We like the professional approach of the Tournament team and the way that they develop sensible and cost-effective planning for the benefit of all concerned.
Our major contribution will of course be the supply of Tournament sportswear and equipment, including competition and training footballs, distinctive leisurewear and everything else needed to successfully underpin the Tournament.
It is our intention to invite one of Europe’s foremost Club side to participate either as a curtain raiser to the Tournament, or to actually stay and compete for the NEW TROPHY which is presently being worked-up .With the JOMA reputation to consider, we will work very closely indeed with the Organisers to ensure that the experience of the past two years’ is built on and that we bring something fresh and innovative to the event.
World Cup year will capture the imagination of the nation; with the saturation coverage of the Cup we are certain that the appetite to see LIVE/LOCAL matches before the start of the domestic season will be considerable. What is particularly gratifying is to see in place the support network of local Clubs and business leaders, which augurs well for the Tournament.
